Let me start by saying that my bridal shower will live in my memory as one of the most fantastic days of my life. My bridesmaids and best friend thought of every detail and put a lot of hours into planning and creating a shower that FAR exceeded my expectations! That being said, let me tell you a bit about it.
Believe it or not, I am a former hairdresser (yup, I used to cut, color and weave with the best of them) and daughter of a former salon owner so my bridesmaids were spot on when they selected a beauty theme for my bridal shower. The brunch-time shower too place at Ici Brooklyn‘s private room. The all white room provided a blank canvas for the elegant decor. The event colors were silver, purple and green – I would have never thought to put that combo together but it was beautiful! I especially loved the station for guests to make their own fragrance. Gorgeous bottles of perfume added an extra touch of sophistication.
I had the honor of being escorted to the shower by my future and future step-daughter, the later of whom stayed and enjoyed the afternoon with me. I was surrounded by ladies I loved and we laughed, ate, toasted and took lots of photos.
All guests left with a personal gift bag with make up NYX, a Votivo candle and a Beauty Blender.
And if all of that wasn’t enough, the bridal party knew how badly I wanted to recreate the Solange Knowles wedding photo so they arranged for me to do just that right after my bridal shower. That was the reason they had all worn white and had instructed me to do the same. The photo session was so much fun!
All in all, it was truly a perfect day! I wouldn’t have changed a thing and for people who know me… that says a lot!
